Tom, quote from previous post on balancing: "1980-88 - ... use a two way combination valve with warning/proportioning functions, no metering. These will have a T in the front line between the master cylinder and combo valve for the left front caliper. The combo valve will have only four connections -- two in and two out. Two different style valves were used, but both functioned and were plumbed the same. (1980 Pacer still used metering/warning combo valve -- ONLY the Pacer!)" I've since noted that Cherokees use the same warning/proportioning valve through at least 1993. It's in my 89 and 93 Jeep TSMs. Looks like everything was pretty standard after 1980. The Jeeps use the same valve even with ABS. -------------------- Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2007 11:45:22 -0800 (PST) From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> On Sun, 25 Feb 2007, farna@xxxxxxx wrote: > Just like my last post when listing them -- it's a combo with switch/proportioning valve. > 1982 TSM, page 2G-21. Really has proportioning, not front metering? -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
