I was really looking for a car that was in need of some moderate body work and a paint job or one with a decent body but in need of a drive train rebuild or replacement. Although this car had some great parts (including a cross ram!) and a newly rebuilt engine and tranny, the body needed more attention than I have time to give it before this summer so I regretfully passed on it. The owner is a good guy and very fair so if anyone else is interested in the car I am sure he would be very interested in talking to you. What I would really like for a new toy is a convertible so if anyone hears of a solid body V-8 Rogue convertible popping up, please contact me at d.curtis@xxxxxxxx And thanks to those who responded to the SC clone convertible that had been on eBay a month or two ago. Unfortunately it was a six cylinder auto car which is not what I am looking for so I passed on that one as well. -- Best Regards, Dan Curtis d.curtis@xxxxxxx 602 317 2018 ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2007 15:23:06 +0000 From: farna@xxxxxxx Subject: Re: [AMC-List] Jeep Vagabond? The best one is in Foster's "The Story of Jeep", a full page ad -- but at reduced size so the text is unreadable. There are several pics in it. Another is in "Ultimate Truck & Van Spotter's Guide". There's a notation that the camper sleeps four. I recall seeing more info on it somewhere, but can't seem to locate it now. Notice how the camper seems awfully long in the back for a CJ? About four feet hang off the back -- with a "pony axle" underneath to carry the added weight. IIRC the tires were 13" or so trailer tires, but couldn't find a clear enough pic or any info to confirm. The hweels on the pony axle are inset a bit. ----------------- Date: Sat, 20 Jan 2007 08:03:44 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> I tripped over this while checking for Gladiator stuff. Looks like a CJ with a camper? I know the Jtrucks came stock with a camper body, but never saw a CJ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110081629950 -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2007 12:04:36 -0800 (PST) From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] 196 OHV and L-Head Oil Pans? To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <947577.1088.qm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 I have a possible buyer for an OHV 196 oil pan. He needs it for his 196 L-Head engine. Are the oil pans the same between the cast iron OHV and L-Head engines? It is snowing here and I couldn't get to the store to get some fleckstone granite paint so I'm stalled right now :[ At least it is going to work though!
