.040" is still acceptable on most 360's. What is wrong with the original?
If I was doing a full on stock redo I'd consider a sleeve to keep the original block.
If you don't want stock a 390 or 401 is an option, albiet a little harder to find. They do come up more then you would think nowadays with internet access opeing up the market. Expect to pay considerably more for the 390 or 401. I personally would just stay with the 360 as it will do plenty to a set of tires and keep the car original if that is what you want.

Oh, durr, I just reread you original post. The problem I found in my
U-Pick-Em 727 would have produced the same slow engagement of reverse,
eventually taking out top gear as well, particularly when cold. The
sealing rings between the pump and the D+R clutch drum are probably
wearing out, with grooves worn in the drum as well. Once warmed up, it
will usually hold enough pressure to engage the clutch (D+R= direct +
reverse). It'll gradually get worse. Unless it has a modified valve
body, it's best to put it in neutral for warming up, full fluid flow...

It has the v6 and auto tranny (don't know what tranny that would be). The previous owner said it runs but leaks oil real bad and has no power.

Well the original topic was to show everyone the video and then as a last minute thing I mentioned the Cherokee.

But I can sure give it a shot ;>

Yeah you do have a point but this one is in such good shape I hate to strip it. (My mom is the one that suggested I just put a motor in the Chero and keep watching for a tranny for the comanche). Besides, If I add another vehicle to the collection it pisses off my coworker that much more. He has been making my car collection his business and everytime he tells me I can't have anymore cars someone gives me another one. (He does the same with my boss but my boss hasn't caught up with me yet).

As for having too many cars, I am getting rid of 2 of them.
