Is the car THAT bad??? I don't think it would have got the criticism it received here on the list if it hadn't been for the write-up. If it had been advertised as a solid project car that still needed lots of work -- well, that would be the truth of the matter! But to advertise it as a "restored" car is stupidity. I don't see "everything else is done" except recovering the back seat either. The mis-match of colors is atrocious! Yellow car, tan dash, tan/creme door panels, BLUE seats??? It's far from "ready to go", although it does sound like it is mechanically. As far as panel alignment not being really good... well, it is a 33 year old car. Panel alignment on these things wasn't perfect coming out of the factory. To me it looks like it would make a decent driver with a bit more work. If the mechanical rebuilds can be supported with receipts, it should be worth the asking price of $2100. That doesn't sound unreasonable to me, but maybe I'm a bit too forgiving? ----------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 21 Dec 2006 9:44:52 -0800 From: Mark Price <markprice242@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Has anyone looked at this Gremlin! WOW, someone buy that man some masking tape! It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Let no panel remain untouched" ! There does not appear to be one aligned or properly prepped and cleaned area on this entire car. Don't foegt to check out the snazzy blue seats and the cool racing accents on the quarter panels! I kept flipping thru the pages of pictures expecting some redeeming quality to come to light, Alas Babylon, None appeared. :[ Ebay Item number: 260066423467 -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list or go to http://www.amc-list.com
