You asked in the right place. Some one here may have one. Also Check
eBay. I bought a NOS Bee emblem and also the Hornet emblem that goes on
the drivers side of the hood on a 73 for 45$ plus shipping. I have a 74
so I kept the bee for my yellow Hornet and sold the Hornet emblem for
20$. A few weeks later another just the NOS bee emblem sold sold for 95$
on eBay. I also bought a used one for my orange 74 for 10$ and got a
nice used on with a spare hood I bought. Sorry it is not for sale. Happy
Hunting!!!!

Hello,

I'm looking to eventually switch to a 4.0 liter cylinder head. Is there any benefit to using both a block and head rather than a 258 block with a 4.0 head.

Regards,

Russell

yeah. if you throw your 258 rods and crank into the 4.0 block you'll
have a 4.5.

there's a little more to it. go over to the strokers group at
yahoogroups and check the back postings by dino savva mentioning his
website on angelfire.com.

I'm having some trouble with my rear end. It is a twin grip. What happen was I cleaned the whole thing, but when I went to put the gasket in it didn't quite fit right. I eventually did get it to fit and used permatex I tightened all the bolts to the correct torque specs, but when I went to fill the thing with fluid it still leaked all over the place. Do have any idea what the problem is as I have run out.

I came across your website today while in search of a gas tank for a 1974 Hornet. I'm not quite sure if you sell a lot of parts and ship them out, but I have searched just about everywhere I know to look looking for this part and cannot find it. If you happen to have one and would be willing to sell it, could you let me know how much it would cost? If you don't have one, is it possible for you to help me in my search. It seems that gas tanks for 1974 Hornets are hard-to-find to say the least. I keep finding websites that sell tanks for 76-77, but that said they wouldn't fit a 74. If you can give me any tips I'd be really appreciative.

Thanks for your time

Jess

Hey Eddie!

I'm in dire need of a passenger sideheadlight ring for my '70 Gremlin. Would you happen to have one lying around? If I have to buy a pair, I'll do that too!!

Thanks,
Darrin K.

I saw the movie last night. There is a 64 Rambler
Classic in several scenes, always parked. Also, I
think there was a Hornet or Gremlin in one scene in
traffic.

Good flick.

HI guys, I will be auctioning off a 1968/69 Javelin Promo model with a
display case. the car is 1:24 scale, I believe. It is 7.5 inches long by
2.75 inches wide. The care is red (maroon?) It was made by ERTL. for AMC
dealers. It is plastic and has the "redline" tires on it. There is a small
piece of chrome missing on the end of the bumper on the passenger side. The
plastic display case has a small crack in the top about 2.25 inches long. It
could be glued back so it won't get any bigger.
If anyone is interested and wants to make me an offer before I put it on
Ebay, please do so tonight.

Well,
I'm getting closer. I thank everyone for the pics to get me back on track!
It seems like the harmonic balancer is too close to the timing chain cover.
Is that possible? Is there a spacer behind it that I am missing. It is
putting the belt just touching the pointer for TDC.

Remember that I am not going back to stock as I have left the air pump off.
I am belting the crank, alternator and water pump with one and then the
crank, AC, tensioner pulley and the power steering. Really this is the best
way to get the tension on everything and clearance needed. Plus it does all
line up this way, just a bit close on the balancer.

Thanks again for any help. Have a Great and safe weekend. Don't forget
Glass City AMC Toledo, OH show is SUnday in Genoa, OH. See you there after
church!

Ertle was not in business in the 60's, it was AMT then. AMT did make
buildable AMC models. I have 68/69/70 Javelin promo's and models. The
promo's were made by Johan who is the only people I know of who made
promo's for AMC. New cases cost 10$ on sale and the promo is worth maybe
75$ in mint condition or how ever bad some one wants it on eBay.

The bases for my two promo cars say "ERTL" right on the bottom of the
baseplates. That's what i am going by. I boufght these two cars from a man
whos dad was an AMC dealer many years ago.

Were promos ever put in a plastic case? I am more familiar with the 1950s
promos than the later cars. If these cars I have arenot real promos, they
are very excellent models.

I don't think this is a live link, but you can copy and paste it into your
browser.
I found it interesting reading.

 http://www.sandcastlevi.com/racing/jav-us.htm

I spent a bit of time reading about the AMC Trans Am efforts. I'm, still
thouroughly convinced that the combination of AMC, Penske, and Donohue was a
success because of the quality of all three elements. There was no one item
that made any of the other two more special. They all contributed equally
and came out on top the fourth and fifth attempt after being right there
close almost every prior year, even without Penske and Donohue. People can
say what they want about the 1971 and 72 seasons being given to
Penske/Donohue/AMC because the other factories pulled out of TA racing, but
I think it was more that GM and Ford knew there was no way they could beat
the unfair advantage that Penske/donohue/AMC had put together and so
therefore chose to withdraw from what they knew they couldn't win and maybe
save a little bit of embarrassment.
What do you think?

Armand
