What happens is every now and again they put the AMC-List stuff into your "bulk" folder. If you have a look you've probably got like 20 sitting there. My lists stopped coming at about the same time. When the list went to the new server this same thing happened, and I can't figure out how to tell Yahoo that they are not spam. So just email 'em and give 'em hell I guess. mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I have a 68 javelin sst project going on i recently bought a 1980 AMC j10 jeep 4x4 with a 360-V8 with headers and a 727 automatic transmission. my question is since this is a 4x4 with a transfer case what am i going to have to do to make this tranny work in my 68 javelin? Unfortunately the headers won't work unless i pound the tubing some on the passenger side and I'm not willing to do that. So if any body needs these 0-miles on them let me know thanks. Harold someone who knows mopars would do as well since the 727 is a mopar tranny, but afaik what you need are the tailshaft and extension bits from a 2wd 727. i don't think it matters whether it's a mopar or amc donor on that end. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought ------------------------------ Message: 7 Date: Sat, 22 Jul 2006 18:16:08 -0600 From: Ken Ames <ameskg@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] 401 crank wanted & IH question To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <1153613768.44c2bfc889bec@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 We did this before... :) There was a 401 Red Diamond 6 in the 40s early 50s, and a 401 V-8in the 50s/60s. I was not thinking quite straight when I said 1 1/16" The T bird trans is different from the AMC. The closest match in shifter placement is the Chevette T5. I had to watch for a while with the nagging suspicion that there would be some AMC content in there somewhere... And boy, did I get it. After a few laps where I forgot to breathe while trying to find that Matador, I finally saw it. It was down in 4th or 5th or something at the time. The two front runners were a lap ahead of Bobby Allison's Matador (which was in third place at a lap down!!), and crashed just short of the finish -- after which Bobby held on for the lead. There was no question in my mind that the Matador was less powerful than the others; 'cause Bobby was nervously doing everything he could to keep one or two other drivers from getting a line to pass him. Had it been for more laps, there was no way the Mat could have held them off. Nevertheless, I haven't seen an AMC on the road (other than mine) for a long time, so this was almost as good.
