He has need for a Bus for use at their mission in Guatemala. A road bus (touring bus) with luggage storage is preferred, for transfering missions teams (and their luggage/stuff) around the country. If you have a bus or know of one that might be available somewhere, please email me back at amundaza@xxxxxxxxx Also, if you have other options besides a touring bus, please let me know. Thanks for all the help! And now for the obligatory AMC/Jeep content ... I have a Milodon Oil Pan, swivel pickup, external oil line and oil pump spacer kit available for sale. Great shape and pan has been powdercoated aluminum-silver. Extra tap and one fitting is included to convert to a dual line system. Anyone interested, please email me back at amundaza@xxxxxxxxx .... thanks! Sincerely, Greg Taylor :) <>< Rochester Hills, Michigan USA "And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. If anyone sent me a message to my personal e-mail, I haven't been able to get into that yet (can't from the computers at work). I imagine I have 200+ messages (150+ spams...) to clear out of that now! Anyway, I'm safe after 47 hours of trip time. Will keep the list posted. I know it's not AMC related, but enough people on here know me and may like the news. If it's a bother just say so! I'll get a few pics of the various AM General prodcts driving around though... ;> ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 02:59:22 -0400 From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] Weathstripping/gaskets 65 Marlin To: amcrelay@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <ADVANCES62idcDjoYAP000000d1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain On May 10, 2006 Bargain Bob Petersen wrote: > Where is the best place to buy a vent mindow gasket and weatherstripping for a Marlin ? As always, all help is appreciated. > > Bargain Bob Petersen > AMC Car Collector Bob, there are no vent window gaskets available that I know of. Contact Metro (http://www.metrommp.com/) and get a catalog. They MIGHT have something from another car that can be modified to fit if yours are just shot. I spray mine with liquid silicone at least yearly, it seems to keep them pliable. They don't seal as good as new, but are fine for rain. The pressure washer will get past them, and a little wind noise if the wind is blowing just the right direction and speed. That vent window gasket will fit all 63-66 Marlin, Classic, Ambassador; and should fit all 63-64 Americans (not sure about 65-69). I know the doors will interchange with 63-64 Americans (except for the outer skins). That's enough coverage that Metro might be persuaded to start making vent window gaskets, but I doubt it. For the door and trunk gaskets, and window seeps, contact Peter Stathes (www.amcrambler.com). He has kits for all. You can match the door and trunk seals from JC Whitney, and can get the window sweeps, but you can't get the window sweep clips from JCW. Peter isn't much more than JCW on the seals, especially after shipping costs are added. For a few bucks more you get better service. Peter also does locks and vac wiper motors. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 03:06:21 -0400 From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] Posting to the list???? Some messages (even the ones I send that way) are getting hung up due to an addressing bug. I'm not sure how to fix it. Right now the list software is just putting those messages on hold until released by an admin. So it just doesn't go out until one of us get time to go in and release them. With me in Afghanistan now, Tom has to do it all, so it takes a couple days sometimes. I will be able to get on sporadicly. If it's any consolation, messages I send through the GOV computers do the same thing. On May 10, 2006 J. Because I don't believe that it's true of modern catalyzed and epoxy finishes. These finishes cure by cross linking into long molecule chains. If the temperature is too high, they cure too fast, resulting in shorter molecule chains and are weaker because of this. If the temperature is too low, then the reaction doesn't happen at all, and it never cures. In any of the industrial epoxies I've used, there is an optimum cure temperature range, for strongest results. What I don't know for modern paints is -what- that temperature range is.... I know some shops use ovens, not to produce a better job, but simply to speed up the drying time, so they can shoot a couple of coats and get the car out in a hurry. Their paint jobs are very presentable, the top one anyways, if all the trim is removed and the car is in good shape to begin. I have never had them do body work, just shoot some paint. Wet sand and buff it out afterwards and it is a good paint job, though i am sure not by Legendaries standards.....Russ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? I think the problem only happens to people who post from AMXfiles.com. There's still a lot of confusion between * the mailing list * AMXfiles They're not the same AT ALL. They are on different computers, 2500 miles apart. When you post to the list from www.amxfiles.com (AMClist ONLINE), that's Jim's site. When you post from there, when you click SEND, behind the scenes it cobbles up an email message that is sent to... ... AMC-list.com, which runs the mailing list, which is EMAIL. EMAIL is a totally separate service from the WorldWideWeb though (confusingly) there are systems -- like Hotmail, AOL, AMXfiles... -- that convert email to www and back. ------------------------------ Message: 10 Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 13:55:18 -0700 From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] Cheap paint... To: amc-list <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Message-ID: <1147553718.6002.76.camel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain I had reasonably minimal work done at a local body shop. $2000 for body work and paint, two colors. It's definitely not show quality; there are a few things they missed. I removed all the trim, bumpers, etc. Overall it's probably "MAACO quality" -- I got good, but minimal, work. I'm happy with it. I would have loved a $5K job, but it took a year to get $2K free, and I want to drive the damn thing! Same people did our other Hornet, over a year ago, no problems there. Similar price. Both are daily drivers -- I've put 16,000 miles on my Hornet since last June. ------------------------------ Message: 11 Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 14:39:38 -0500 From: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] 70 AMX parts wanted To: "AMC List" <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: larrysshoes@xxxxxxx Message-ID: <001d01c676d7$931f8340$28f1b148@piageedc1iqa5q> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original need parts for a 70 amx bbo. plug insets for the arm rest overlays, stainless moulding for the roof rails to start. larry evans larrysshoes@xxxxxxx 734-485-4870 ========================================= anyone that can help out feel free to give him a shout above thanks, Eddie Stakes' Planet Houston AMX 713.464.8825 eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.planethoustonamx.com ------------------------------ Message: 12 Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 14:38:28 -0500 From: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] 64 American wagon for sale To: "AMC List" <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: coffeemitlegs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <001c01c676d7$92df1ee0$28f1b148@piageedc1iqa5q> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original This 1964 330 American Wagon is a 34,000 mile car.
