Re: 62 Rambler Classic Windshield Seal?

I'm glad you thought to e-mail him anyway! There are some other sources I can think of: Mac McCoy (e-mail ramblers@xxxxxxxxxxxx) has a couple 61 Ramblers and sells parts. He may know if there is a new one made. The 61 gasket will definitely fit the 62. The other two sources that come to mind are Galvin's Rambler Parts (www.ramblerparts.com) and Blaser's (www.blaserauto.com). Personally I'd shy away from an NOS gasket, especially if it's at a higher than new price. I just don't know how well an old gasket would hold up in storage for so long, if you can even find one. If that's all you can get, coat it good with a liquid silicone before using.

If by chance there isn't a gasket made for the 58-62, you're still not out in the cold! I believe the 63-66 gasket will work with some modification. If you have to go that route, send me the width and height of your windshield measured from the center both ways and I'll measure mine and see how close they are. If the 63-66 Classic gasket is a bit big, the 64-69 American should be close.

There's also a couple tricks to installing and getting it leak free, I'll explain that later! Just let me know when you find a gasket.
