Yes, I'm beginning to believe that it will work. The more I Think about what I have in place in the car now compared to what I want to do makes me think it will work. I have a 4.0L shortblock with a pilot bearing in it. I also have a cracked damaged bellhousing. If I take a couple of pieces of strap and mount them to a Camaro bearing retainer, which I think I have. I should be able to mock up the bad camaro input I have to see how far it goes into the 4.0L pilot bearing, before I order a new one. Sounds like a plan. I will have to get to work on that. IIRC isn't the pilot tip of the AX15 input the same .509" as the Camaro input and AMC???? -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 10:32:56 -0500 From: farna@xxxxxxx Subject: To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <ADVANCES62apzhad2Vq0000029d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> I think the 1/2" shorter shaft will work as you suggested earlier, provided there is enough clearance between the clutch disc hub and the extended pilot bushing. If the bushing can extend out 1/4" I think you're good to go as long as the tip is arond 1/4" in the actual crank hole. If not, I'd go with your idea about using a larger diameter busing with a shoulder that will press in the crank.
