Vacuum Wipers/Drum Brakes Fun?

I too prefer old cars, but as far as those idiosyncrasies some have I
try to improve upon them. I really mean eliminate them.
I had vacuum wipers on my new 65 American 440 Twin Stick and on a 2 year
old used 69 Rebel and hated them. Non power and power drum brakes were
marginal in both cars. My yellow 74 Hornet which I bought off the show
room floor had P/S, A/C, bucket seats, floor shift auto and non-power
drum brakes. I don't know what idiot ordered this car for stock without
power disc's. I added the dealer power brake kit to the car one year
later and disc's last year. I have made subtle improvements over the
first 25 years I have had the car and 2 years ago when I bought the
orange Hornet incorporated all the same improvements to it with one
addition. I added a 100 amp Delco one wire alt to replace the original
defective 35 amp Motorola after I got 3 bad rebuilt Motorola's in a row.
When the yellow car gets it's V8 Conversion it too will get a Delco.
Yesterday driving the yellow car in the rain with the defroster on the
wipers and the headlights the Motorola showed 11 volts on the volt
meter. The changes I make are for dependibility and ease of operation. I
drive my cars all year round not just on sunny days. Driving a car in
the rain with drum brakes, vacuum wipers, and a Motorola alt. is not fun
in my book. Give me modern in an old body. Except I won't give up my
points, but did add an Acell Super Coil.
