Thursday I took the rear seat back cushion to my friends shop to install the carpet on the back and install it in the car. The cut and bound carpet piece from the kit did not fit properly. It was 3/8 of an inch to big all the way around. WOW what a surprise!!!! since the last three pieces I installed didn't fit properly either. I cut the 3/8's off and picked a 12 foot piece of edge binding from my local upholstery shop and am in the process of hand binding it myself. It is a real pain and time consumeing too. Any how I started on it thursday afternoon and since the weather was going to be in the 90's friday I stayed in the house with the A/C on and worked on it for a few hours. The weekend is supposed to be just as bad so in the house I will stay and hope I can finish it by monday. On another note I called the material place SMS that Frank recomended about some seat insert material. They said they had it (55$ a yard) and pushed me for an imediate sale. I had previously check! ed out their web site and it said you could request a sample. I told them I needed to see a sample before buying the material, so one is being sent to me. With the luck I have with this car I ain't buying the material without seeing a sample. My May 1'st completion date has come and gone and so it looks like my July 1'st one will too. The car has been laid up in my friends shop for 4 1/2 months now. Next is to pull the front bucket seats and carpet, paint the floor, install the Dynamat and install the last 2 pieces of carpet. I wonder if they will fit as none of the last 4 pieces fit properly. On a good note the repo felt window channel fit like factory and so did the repo door gaskets and window fuzies.
