Constant Voltage Source

I'm installing an aftermarket sound system in the Matador. The
AM unispeaker radio, while sporting a high nostalgia factor, just
doesn't cut it for everyday usage.
The system in question is nothing fancy, in fact it consists of
about $30.00 in salvage yard parts and nothing more. It works,
that much I know. What I don't know is where to connect the one
wire so that I don't lose the clock setting and station presets
every time I turn off the ignition.
There are eight wires coming out of the back of the stereo. Four
are speaker wires, leaving a black (ground), yellow (antenna?),
red, and red/white stripe. One of those last two is the one that
requires the uninterrupted power source.
Where's a good place to connect that one? I'm thinking the clock
connection on the fuse panel, but I suspect something faulty in
that circuit on my car since the clock is not working. I don't
think it's as simple as a fuse, as I've checked those. Hopefully
there are no cooked fusible links... there are some dash lights
not working either (clock light and wiper switch light).
Ideas/input/suggestions/technical expertise appreciated! Thanks!
