Valley pans and Offenhauser V-8 Intakes

I recently picked up a Offenhauser V-8 intake and was thinking about using it on my 401 Javelin, my question is will the use of a valley pan/intake gasket eliminate the use of the baffle pan on the bottom of the intake. I do not have one for the Offy and the one from the original AMC will not fit, I have heard of oil being sucked up through the pcv valve into the intake, any suggestions...... Thanks in advance.
