amc axles

Jim; I posted the entry about the AMC 20s being stout
with just minimum work, save for the big purchase of
the one piece axles. I read a lot of 4x4 mags, though
I don't off road, and they all like the 20 unless you
are going to be a madman. Looking at the various uses
for 20 I think it can be set up correctly, but there
are some mis conceptions about the axle, especially if
someone new to the fold read the article saying the
hub is a press on affair only. I have never tore one
up, though I have tossed a drive line or two, even
when I had my 390 Gremlin. My AMX is not tame and it
is running on a 35 year old rear end, new innards though.....Russ
