Frank...everyone.... Then i assume that disk brake setups(Kelsey Hayes)from Matador,Ambassador....etc 71-76 will ALL interchange with 71-74 Jav/AMX units. So...WHY are the rotors THREE times as expensive?? I can get new Bendix type rotors for $32-$35 locally. BUT the Kelsey Hayes rotors are $95-$100....???? Any idea whats the deal??? Thanks to all for the info so far!! Waiting to hear WHY so high$$ $,Joe ??On > All AMCs used Kelsey Hayes pin type brakes from 71-76, even Hornets. Later models used Bendix (Ford used a Bendix type) sliding calipers. 82-83 used a pin type GM caliper, but different than the KH. KH uses pins to hold the pads in, the GM type slides on pins. > > -- > Frank Swygert > Publisher, "American Independent > Magazine" (AIM) > For all AMC enthusiasts > http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html > (free download available!) > > > -------------- Original message ---------------------- > > > Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 21:39:57 -0800 (PST) > > From: Joe <jgray_55@xxxxxxxxx> > > Subject: More on Disk swap on 72 Gremlin > > To: AMClist <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, > > > > Are there any big AMC cars > > (ambo,matador,rebel...etc)with the same type disk > > brake setup as the 71-74 Jav/AMX...that will > > interchange??
