Late to early master cylinder swap

I got the spindles etc from a 82 concord to swap onto my 1970 amx. My master
also needs replacement. Does anyone know if the late model master is an
acceptable swap onto my 1970 brake booster? Thanks for any insight, somebody
has to have tried it. I haven't seen both parts so it could be completely
wrong and I have no idea yet.
