A: I think only Pacer fits Pacer, but for that kind of money, he could have
it shipped to Randy's ring and pinion (maybe there's one closeby?
http://ringpinion.com ) Any Jeep shops? Internals are the same as early XJs.

Howdy:
A friend of mine caught the AMC bug from me and just
bought a '75 Pacer DL with auto tranny. It has a
whine in the differential, and his mechanic says it
will cost about $1100 to rebuilt! He was shocked and
sad that his new toy needed so much money put into it
right up front, so I told him to just stick in a used
one. He is in South Bend, IN, and I do not know the
local parts yards that have AMCs in them.
Questions:
1. Anyone have a spare diff laying around they'd be
willing to part with?
2. What other AMCs of that vintage share the same
differential? I hope that Gremlins and Hornets use
the same, maybe even the Matador??
Thanks, guys.
