Houston Police Gremmies

YES!  You are right about the Police Gremmies.  Before
anyone starts scouring the yards for special Police
Package HiPO goodies, keep in mind the following. 
THese were the "last gen" (77-8) Grems really stripped
down (though with A/C... c'mon, it's HOUSTON!) to the
basics.  They were used primarily by "Meter Maids" and
other such municiple maintenance and "gofer" type
activities.  They were considered manueverable and
easy to park with good ingress/egress and capacity to
carry equipment in a small package.  They were painted
that sickly HPD blue and white and those 300 lb Meter
Mavens ran them until there was nothing left... so
good luck finding any!  (had a friend that worked
South Houston that said he saw one with 300K on it!)
