Tom - what does the LPG tank weigh ?..... roughly
Manchester catalog says 106 lbs. THat's a 35 gallon "water
capacity" (28 gal to 80%) and includes all the shields, but not
the brackets. Add 20 lbs.
What'sa AMC gas tank weigh? 25 lbs with all the junk?
Water is 8lbs/gallon, gasoline about 6lbs/gal, LP about 4lbs/gal.
25 lb gasoline tank (guess) + 20 gals gasoline= 145 lbs
126 lb LP tank + 28 gals LP= 238 lbs
eh. I had a smaller tank (16 gal actual capacity) but it was waaay
to small. Now I've got 300 mile practical range.
The Rambler's got custom springs, plus air shocks. I beefed the
top shock mounts long ago. Sits tail-up slightly even with a full
tank and passenger. Barely squats when fully loaded with camp gear
(eg. to burning man).
None of this helps drag strip performance.
