I could be wrong be wrong but I just baught a chrome one and i was also looking at alluminum ones. What I read was they wil replace all vaulve coves exept for when AMC swithched to the plastic covers I forget the year they did that.

i got a 232 and a 258 heads and there from a 1970 amc gremlin and a 1974 amc
gremlin and the valve covers were not aluminum at all.. the heads are fer sale
