If your lifters are shot - good chance the cam lobes are going flat . Also run in a Cloyes double roller timing chain and gears as your stock unit is more than likely stretched to the max . Internals are the same - external cases are not. AMC had an AMC bolt pattern so - you must run an AMC TorqueCommand . Look for a Lock Up Convertor 998 or 999 ( from a Wrangler - use a 2wd tailshaft ) as these are the Super Duty units and are lite weight - take up to 450 HP . 727 takes 30HP to spin . Look for a '93 - '95 Ford Mustang Cobra 5 speed stick trans if your going Stick Job . T-10s are rock crushers - and not versital - and Antiques - you're talking late 1968 Technology.
