Yes - and while your there - put in Crane Cam #753901
H-260-2 . If your lifters are shot - good chance the 
cam lobes are going flat . Also run in a Cloyes double
roller timing chain and gears as your stock unit is more
than likely stretched to the max .

Internals are the same - external cases are not.
AMC had an AMC bolt pattern so - you must run
an AMC TorqueCommand . Look for a Lock Up Convertor
998 or 999 ( from a Wrangler - use a 2wd tailshaft )
as these are the Super Duty units and are lite weight -
take up to 450 HP . 727 takes 30HP to spin .

Look for a '93 - '95 Ford Mustang Cobra 5 speed stick trans
if your going Stick Job . T-10s are rock crushers - and not
versital - and Antiques - you're talking late 1968 Technology.
