I plan to leave on Tuesday morning, visit a friend in WV along the way at Charsleston, then travel either thru Kentucky via Lexington / Louisville, then head north sooner to hit Indiana by early evening and stay overnight. Or go thru Cincinnati. Might be a longer way south, but more interesting. :) If anyone has any helpful suggestions, I'd appreciate it. I also remember someone saying to AVOID Chicago, to go further west, then up and over. Can anyone update this? Should I take 74 to I-39 north? That looks like the best route NOT thru Chicago, but still close enough. I'd heard the traffic due to Interstate renovations was hell, so would like to avoid ALL that! I'm not looking to get to Kenosha the quickest, so I will make scenic detours or go to places I've never been before. Maybe even hit Iowa at Moline ( never been in Iowa ) and St. Louis, MS ( my football team the Rams live there, I can NEVER find any Rams stuff in Wash., DC ! ) Might save the St. Louis jaunt for the return trip. :) Anyway, all help is appreciated. I'll be traveling in a gold Gremlin, with pinstripes, black tags with white letters. I will probably make a sign up to put across the lower back hatch as well. :D So, only 30+ hours to go before I hit the road! Yahoo! See ya there, or along the way.
