Hooray for Bart, the only guy awake in here and he wins a ride in my Bantam as soon as it's frame off restoration is complete. Actually Bantam designed the Jeep and built the first 2000 of them, the only time in Bantam's history the company operated in the black. The US government not only then gave the design to Willys and Ford to produce, it ordered that Bantam scrap all its dies for the Bantam car to help the war effort in scrap steel, leaving the company without a product for the post war era. Bantam did manufacture the army trailers for the Jeep during the war but was comdemed to ruin by designing the most sucessful automobile of all time. Jeeps have been made by: Bantam Willys and Ford during the War Willys after the War. Kaiser bought out Willys AMC bought out Kaiser Chrysler Bought out AMC Daimler Benz Bought out Chrysler But the Bantam Jeep idea still exists as a profitable car over 50 years later, ironic isn't it? for more information check out: http://www.wmspear.com/Bantam/ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
