Hello Dad of Oliver : Two ways to go with this gem . Is the frame straight ? No ? Get the insurance payment and locate a Very Nice specimen of a Gremlin . For that money you can have any - in the best of condition. That is what I would do - then Rust Proof the hell out of it . Run Moly - engine assembly lube (CRC) with each oil change - wear proofs the engine. And - you can at the same time - get a cordless Saws-all - and go find a donor Gremlin in a J-yard - or wherever - and cut a fresh rear quarter for this runner . Grab the fenders and whatever else you can - these are not going to last - last call has sounded on these j-yard AMCs'. Take your quarter panel - leave 5-6 extra inches all way round - include any seam / butted metal weld areas - spot welds are drilled out with a spot weld cutter - auto body supply house - cheap - get a pile of these - to a body shop or custom car owner/builder - check the local car shows for someone - side job like this is easy for them. Coat the inside weld seams with Rust Mort . AMC are notorious rusters. Now you have a super show Gremlin to cherish and preserve - AND - a runner ! Let me know the details - always up for a good story ! - brien On Sun, 19 Aug 2001 11:25:24 -0700 "Ken S" <oliverdad@xxxx> writes: > Hi, > For those who don't remember, my son's 75 Gremlin, decent body, > having > trouble smogging (still not yet), was hit on both the left rear > (primary > impact) and front fender by a car going around a corner. > The body shop figures over $4000 in damages. > > Community email addresses: > Post message: gremlintime@xxxxxxxxxxx > Subscribe: gremlintime-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxx > Unsubscribe: gremlintime-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxx > List owner: gremlintime-owner@xxxxxxxxxxx > > Shortcut URL to this page: > http://www.onelist.com/community/gremlintime > Gremlintime(Home of the AMC Gremlin on the WWW): > http://www.geocities.com/gremlintime > > Your use of Yahoo!
