Jon first off you'll need a V8 crossmember which can be found on the 72-76 
Gremlin,70-77 Hornet 78-79 Concord and 79 Spirit and you'll want to swap the 
rear,a 68-70 AMX/Javelin rear is a direct bolt in.Also a Ford 9 inch or Mopar 
8 3/4.your very lucky to have found a 401,thats the gold nugget for HiPo AMC 
enthusiests and i'm glad you stuck with AMC instead of ruining your Grem by 
dropping in a Bowtie boat anchor like some have done on this gremlin list
