I was looking thru one of the old SIA ( Special Interest Autos ) magazines I'd bought at Carlisle last year, which had a Jeep history article in it. While thumbing thru thoroughly this time, I noticed a lineart picture...hey! That looks like a Metro! It was, it was an AMC engineering exercise during the early '80's when some of the older engineers were trying to revive some interesting ideas because they weren't satisified with all the "progressive" ideas of the time. They had the front end looking like a Spirit with the squared headlights, with the old Metro grill, and a tapered more aerodynamic rear glass area, but the door was pretty much lifted right from the old Metro, as were the rooflines, it looked pretty "interesting", to say the least. It's a half-page article/picture, I can scan it and send it along to any interested parties. Just let me know. I'll scan it today, and have it ready to go!
