Will a Tremec TKO work, since it was designed to replace a T-5 in a Mustang?

I've looked at adding a T-5 into a vintage Mustang, and its a real easy
swap. If I remember correctly, the Tremec is more difficult, and I think
its is because of bell housing incompatibility on the old Mustangs.
