well bryan,
getting the column out and back in is as simple as disconnecting the bolts 
from the gearbox and from under the dashboard, along with some wires and 
your good to go, a 75 Gremlin (I know because i own one) will not 
interchange because of the electrical connections and also the bolt spacing 
is different, the 75 uses a wider column because of the safety regulations 
for that year. you can use a 70-73 Steering column in your Gremlin.
