Eh, yes and no. There was a 56 Roadmaster having interior done around corner at Westside upholstery shop a few months ago I commented on, $10K for the seats alone, not counting carpet and convertible roof, was probably $20K+ when done. Yes, $2K might seem like a lot, but some of this stuff is what's out there is out there in 2012. I have dropped $10K into paint jobs alone thru years, it all depends on what one wishes to accomplish with the vehicle they are restoring. Sometimes it justifies it, other times not. I could not see spending $2K on redoing my 74 Sportabout interior, or the 74 Javelin interior I just picked up for instance. I could have the Javelin seats redone in very close to original big grain vinyl Uganda looking material, including cushions and springs for $800 for instance. However, if I was going to go back into it as a concours type restoration, I would spring the $800 for the proper Uganda vinyl. So really depends on cars, some justify it, others do not!
