Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Question about wheels for 1978 Gremlin

I am pretty sure they were off a Volare. That is the only car he had with that bolt battern. I think he has owned three at one time or another.  I have since found some various Rambler AMC rims to put on it.
On a side note I did find a pair of front fenders for my other Hornet at a junkyard last week.
No rust for $75 each. Oh yeah. They were fiberglass.  Now if I can just get some quarter panels I might start fixing it up.

are you sure they were volare rims? I have owned many dodge products, including Volare/aspen and I interchanged them with my 77 Hornet AMX..it sounds like ford rims because they have smaller centers

I found out Volare wheels do not fit on a Hornet. I bought a '74  4dr that had no rims on it. My uncle gave me a set from an old Volare he had. The centers were too small. Most aftermarket rims have slightly larger centers to fit more vehicles. Originals are hub centric as in fit onto the hub as opposed to ones that fit only on the wheel studs. Just keep looking around to find what you like and see if you can get them in your size.

Davis,

You wouldn't happen to know what the backspace on a 78 Gremlin is, would you?

Thanks!

Jen
