[BaadAssGremlins] rear hatch lifts [shocks]

A couple weeks ago I inquired about converting my hatch lifts that were bolted on [70-73] to later model ball and socket type. I discovered later model Spirit hatches have a ball that is threaded into the hatch. The threads are the same as the early model bolt on lifts.  It will take 4 threaded balls [ balls come out easy with a t-30 femail torx] for the conversion. The travel of the lift is shorter because of ball placement. So I'm off to the parts store for a lift about 2 t0 3 inches longer. Let you know how I come out.thank you for your help. Dale
