[BaadAssGremlins] Re: nigerian scammers, tis season to scam (was: cheap 1978 amc gremlin)

Yup....Tis The Season To Scam! you know, scammers need gifts too, so tons of them out in force. If you google 'nigerian assholes' (not sure I can say that on here but have seen worse) a small obscure file comes up #1 in world off my site, it is a older file, but a month or so ago I spent a few hours flagging tons of scam nigerian craigslist ads for the cars mentioned there, not that I give a rat's patooie about a Toyota anything, but the scammers had written a lot of script into the ads.......so when you searcxh for 'AMC' or 'Ford' it pulls up their ad with '2007 Infinity, divorced must sell $2680' for instance. So no matter WHAT you searched for vehicle wise, it pulls up their scam ad.

So if any of you happen to search craigslist for 'AMC' and it pulls up a non AMC car with ridiculous low price in the subject line, (and usually a gmail return address written in ad!) simply click on the PROHIBITED button there and craigslist will shut down the ad.

Scam is a scam no matter what language. One day one of my immensly wealthy nigerian friends who wish to share untold riches humble and honorable me will come thru with that $55 million USD and I will own all of you. Or maybe make like poor man's Oprah and buy all list members a Gremlin. I guess I can give up waiting for the millions Kadafy Duck in Libya promised me a few years ago though.

I have to go now, it appears my email has won YET ANOTHER huge Scam-A-Lot Lotto!!!!!

I managed a sports bar here in Houston and we had bilingual canadians jello wrestling night with bikini clad girls. Place was packed....but I uh, don't think they were Canadian eh.

That is a good point Eddie - you may be correct - if you landed on a Quebec site, it would be in French - but what caught my attention originally was that it was a mixture of both english and french - and if it was translated then it should all be french.  It may be legitimate, but I would be careful still and all as the scammers remain very active and there is a lot of interest in these cars so they make an ideal target for them.

About what Tom mentions, not sure if it is the filter or not, but I was trolling craigslist in Canada last night and even in areas like Alberta, and Saskatoon where you are more prone to get a Canadian boot up your ass if speaking frog.....the craigslist site was appearing in french. I believe there is a filter on craigslist to translate it to english, just figured would look at the photos. Same with if you have ever trolled craigslist in Mexico...it shows up spanish, but there is link to make everything appear in english also.

So it might have been my fault for simply posting the ads in french, not sure! Or guy could be speakie the froggy like old Pierre Bochamp up there at AM Racing, when he speaks, with thick french accent it is like watching the guy on Man Vs Food eat 5 pound burrito and you can either"
(A) get out crackers and eat the fixing faling out side of mouth and shirt for lunch
(B) put on plastic like Gallagher show
(C) put on plastic and also enjoy spillover lunch while he talks.

lAnyone on the llist who has an interest in this car, I would be very careful - there is something not right about this ad - it purports to be on the London Ontario  KIJIJI and the car in Parkhill Ontario - yet the ad is in french, and french, although Canada is bilinual, is not the laguauage this would be in if this ad was factual. I would be very concerned they are trying to set somebody up for a rip off.
