I don't think this was a real commercial.

This might have been a dealer promotional video, but no way is this a commercial, at least nationally.

The sound is ambient; the production is community playhouse; and the dialogue is sappy.

"...it's loaded with sex"??  No chance that's a national commerical in 1977.

And when we the last 3:44 commercial you saw?  Not 1 minute or 2, or even 3, but 3:44?  What?

Not on TV, and certainly not network TV

 

The name Fonz was a ripoff.

But as much, it's a replay of the OLD Javelin commercials from the 60s

"Hey, you punks!  get away from that car!"

 

Which is a knockoff of West Side Story.
