Someone asked me recently about a heat riser, this way reply, worth repeating:

if so, do search on ebay for 'amc heat riser' but those available at local auto parts 
stores. Note I get rid of them....I remove them and then have exhaust pulled up to 
manifold, and have exhsuts place cut and splice a small piece of pipe under car to make up 
difference, these things are worthless. Another trick have done is weld them wide open. If 
not what you talking about let me know.
