The stock system is perfectly fine for your build. If you want a little more piece of mind I  make and sell a much improved aluminum pump. I have been using a race version for many years as well as many satisfied customers. I haven't been selling many lately because ive been super busy but if you need a street kit I can get one out to you. Email me for more specific details.

I'm gathering up the parts that I need to assembly my 401.  This will be mainly a street engine, and it will rarely see RPM above 5000.  I have read so much about the poor oiling systems on these AMC V8, and was wondering what other are doing.  I heard that it will work fine for street engines, but I do want to blast it down the strip ever now and than.  Is the Timing cover and Oil Pump cover from Bullgear something that I need?
