That's what we're talkin bout ! ! ! A member on the Yahoo Pacer group put
a caddy engine in his Pacer years ago, and had fantastic times with it at the
strip... And it was a conversation piece no matter where he went..

part.. I do like chevys (own 3 of them for my daily drivers) but I agree,, IF
you are going to put something in to an AMC other then an AMC engine,, it
should be "different" A chevy small block 350 is too "Cookie Cutter" Go the
extra mile and stuff a new generation 8.1 liter Chevy into it, or maybe a
Triton V8 out of a wrecked Mustang and make it worth the effort..... But,, no
matter what anyone does to their AMC,, make it "yours", put all the Ideas and
Dreams into it that you want to, and Have FUN ! ! ! !

Gremlin (or Pacer, or Matador, etc.) ALREADY breaks the "boring" mold. In
  1984? Snooze. Today? It's special if it's merely on 4 wheels. 232-6 or SBC350,
no matter, it CAN'T be boring. Not now. Not any more.

offense man but AMCers are a loyal bunch and while its good you saved it from
the crusher I still stand by my "belly button 350 swap" statement. its a
boring engine hell a Mazda rotary would be someting different at
  least.

Not only are the engines cheaper to built, but you can get any body part you
want, plus upgrade up the ass.Ãâ Thats why you see about 30 or more of them
for ever AMC the you see, at a show.

when your already ahead of the game with your set up you have now?? Everything
with a SBC swap is friggin BORING! I love seeing traditional hot rods with
motors like a "Nailhead Buick" or a "394 cubed Olds" and sure you pay more for
parts and having it rebuilt but its much more satisfying in the end either
blowing the doors off or outshining some belly button ass "tree fiddy" swapped
  set of wheels.
