The main reason they don't fit properly is because of our engine mount brackets (the plate between the motor mount and the engine block) are about 1" lower in height and this drops the engine 1" lower in the chassis which in turn puts the headers 1" closer to the ground and that means even the ants in the dirt have to duck to get out of our way. Oh, yea an don't go over a speed bump or you'll be replacing them in a week (been there, done that). LOL  Gary 'The Mix'

I have looked at both Summit and Jegs and I can not find a listing for Dong Headers, that will fit a V8 Gremlin.  They have them for AMX and Javelin V8 chassis but no Gremlin.  Are these what you are using?  I know that the crossmember on these cars are differance from the Gremlin, and the engine bay is larger, on them also.

I ordered Hooker Super Comp headers (ceramic coated) for my 401 in the grem and when I got them, I was so disgusted with the quality, that I sent them back.. I ordered a set of Dougs Headers (ceramic coated #D103) last sunday night from summit, got them yesterday, Quality and design looks to be 100% great. I will be installing them this weekend, and let ya know how they fit. Caution: Those Headers on the E Bay ad are rectangle port, even though they list them for the 70's gremlin that should have dog leg ports.. Keep that in mind when you order any brand header, to make sure they are the port shape that you need.
