Oh boy... what fun.

Every human -- cop, father-of-cop, sibling-of-cop, citizen, king, or potentate -- is QUITE capable of being horrible at any time they choose.  Even people that post on these lists can choose that.

No one is a pig.... but then no is honest, fair, and just.
It's what you CHOOSE to be... and to be good, a person has to make that choice as often as possible.  No one can [choose to] every time, not even cops.

Trouble is, there is usually FAR more influencing factors to be a Bad Person than there are to be a Good Person.   Our Momma's knew this to be the case and tried to teach us this.  Donning a uniform makes NO ONE a Good Person, unless they choose to live up to it -- and they can choose not to.

But cops exist because a LOT of people have abrogated their responsibilities as citizens.  The citizens are apathetic.  They're lazy.  They're spineless.  Or they're flat immoral.
"Kill a cop"??  Sure... get to it.  Do it today.  Either that, or you're just as spinless and lazy as the very criminals you expect to be protected from.  Frustrated by the police?  Get out your essay pen and start writing.  OR get out your favorite shootin' iron and have at it.  Either way, DO something about it and quite grousing.  Because talk only makes it worse.

But I suspect you won't do either one.

The flatfoot with the radar gun and ticket book would most-usually rather not be there and  LOVE to be helping the helpless, protecting the innocent, and bashing the face of the brutal aggressor.  But, just like everyone else, they have a BOSS.  Just like you.  Just like me.  And their boss says "go set up a sting" and they have to do what their boss says.  Just like you.  Just like me.  They would LOVE to ride to the rescue and shoot some pyscho and watch him gasp on his last gurgle -- thus making the world a better place.  But what they USUALLY get is a some half-wit that needs a swift kick in the trousers -- but if THEY do it, they'll have never-ending reviews, paperwork, and possible civil action.

How does that dogface patrolman deal with this?  You know good and well.... tell stories.  Campfire stories of tiny little victories of dubious character in a sea of filth and incompetence from BOTH sides.  They joined up to fight crime and make things right.  They end up being chewed on for everything that goes wrong, their fault or not.   You're just lucky they're talking to YOU and not talking to THEMSELVES.

I hope we don't get into killing cops... or anyone for that matter.  I think there's still some civillity that separates us from the hooga-booga natives.  We just had a SchoolBoard and City Council election near here.  Voter turnout?  12%.  Yup.  12 WHOLE percent.  People that gripe about schools, streets, trash-service, spending, and yes, cops?  100%.  See the REAL problem there?

Still in all, I'm a firm believer in the Tree of Liberty and how it gets nourished.    I'm a firm beleiver in a very small government at every level possible.  But it only gets griped about here.  It's gets SOLVED out there.

Solve something, or participate, and then report back.  Sure Eddie ate up bandwidth (pretty calm and slow-moving bandwidth) with the seatbelt story.  Notice the difference between you two?  He did something.  Do something and then let us know how it went.

gee, i talk too much sometimes.......

L.

A LITTLE over the top?
I take HUGE offense as my SON is a deputy sherrif and he is HONEST, FAIR and JUST and deals with the real PIGS in our society every day.  Just because you have assholes in your family doesnt justify advocating murdering police.
You disgust me.

As you may surmise, I don't like PIGS! State or local, as far as I'm concerned "Help keep America beautiful, kill a cop"! That may be considered a little over the top, but you have to live/mingle with these D*cks as family members before you really know what they're like.
