My point is, without dragging this on, is what I tell people daily...there
are good reproductions and bad reproductions. Chinese made aMC emblmes quickly
come to mind. The simulated rocker moldings offered for 70 AMX is another, you
have to pay 'up front' the manufacturer in China, then when you get product it
may or may not be spot on. The 70 AMX simulated exhaust moldings being offered
out there the horizontal slits on side are larger than originals for instance.
Might be not noticable to non AMCer, or even occasional AMCer, but if I'm
judging your car I will deduct points for it.
Years ago the manufacturer here in US of 90% of the weatherstrips out cars
use had a 'bad mold' for the 68-74 AMX Javelin door seals. So while new, after
about month they would snap and break, usually under door or near trinagular
seal at top back. So would have to give refunds to those people who bought them
to keep peace, after all, only month old strips. So I sent NOS strip up to them
in MN and they fixed mold, now everyone happy since in aMC land singing wea re
the world without MJ.

fiberglass fenders?
Actually I think that guy in fla is the current high bidder on my spirit
eBay auction.
Yes I have heard bad stuff about showcars. I wouldn't use them there are
other vendors for glass Amc parts I just didn't have time to
search
Sent from my iPhone
I have not had anything from Showcars ever fit, and the wait time is
6-9 months before it is shipped out of Canada. I agree, most if not all
fiberglass as Davis mentioned needs to be trimmed and fitted, but some are
beyond ill fitting and others are so thin you will never get waves out. It's
why amc4ever guy that used to sell all the hoods, bumpers and other
fiberglass parts on ebay down in FL is no longer around. My dealings with
Showcars came to a head when repeated attempts to get back my scoop used for
a mold, went on after excuse after excuse and I threatehend to go to Harris
County courthouse and file theft chrges, of which a warrant would have been
issued, so guy if stepped foot in US would have open warrant. Extreme, but
they would not give my original scoop back......after 7 months.......not
good business practice there. But with fiberglass, yes, they have to be
trimmed and fitted, whether headliner for AMX or spoiler or hoods....
