Jerry, it might help, you should have a bezel, spring also behind there, and metal collar for ground. One the dash frame itself where all this contraption goes the hole is round, but at bottom has small cutout facing 6:00 that is supposed to hold ignition switch in place on the 68-69 AMX & Javelin (and some others like my 68 Rebel). Sometimes the spring is the culprit....just does not push ignition switch against dash frame as should after all these years, a old AMX I had in early 1980s used to 'spin' the ignition switch. But could be a variety of factors causing whole switch to move, but usually spring, followed by collar, followed by bezel of which can break one of the ears or thru time no longer 'true round' and gets 'flaired out'. Either way if you want one let me know.... http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amx_parts/amx-ignition1.jpg http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amx_parts/amx-ignition2.jpg http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amx_parts/amx-ignition3.jpg http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amx_parts/amx-ignition4.jpg Eddie Stakes 713.464.8825 eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.planethoustonamx.com from: jerryg@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Eddie, Would the ign. switch bezel fix the issue I have with my '69 AMX? the ign. switch lock cyl. turns when the key is turned. I have messed around with this issue for awhile & can't seem to figure out why it does it. I was told it is a easy install. but am at a loss. Jerry ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
