I would turn over the keys to my 71 SC/360 to him, people have
done that to me thru decades at national meets though, even prototypes, and have
always felt honored to that extent they would simply toss me keys, sit behind
wheel, either drive it or crank it up. Some of the more memorable ones are on my
site like Dom Jaradine's AMX prototype, had 994 miles on it in 1988, could not
believe was sitting behind wheel of something that should have been destroyed
(as AMC and other automakers did with prototypes) or Teague's 71 AMX two seater
(now owned by Spangler) up in CT in 2000, boy, that was nice, I told Mike I
would take out my afro rake before sitting in car though. Or driving around like
cheffuer in 69 Ambassador limosine around parking lot and back streets, that
390V8 rumbling but barely heard with extra sound proofing limos got. All great
memories, and looks like this is what is 'driving' the Hornet former owner
perhaps to want to get behind wheel and drive down memory lane. So would simply
be payback time for me. I would even toss in a AMC logoed pair of Depends if
they wanted to open up the Hornet (consistent mid 13's stock) also, so no mess
on those red, white and blue seats.
