Having had the misfortune of burying way too many friends and loved ones this past year, I think that a celebration of life is quite appropriate.  Let 'em cruise!

I am thinking about going by the funeral home and leaving them my request. I am not planning on dying soon but I am serious about this do you guys think I am nuts.

Uh, you need to leave that request in your WILL, at least. That way it has legal backing. Family could override the funeral home's attempt to comply, and being dead, you couldn't make your wife do anything. If you're SUPER serious, get a lawyer to write it into your will,  and make sure he's younger than you, so he can be around to enforce the request legally upon your death.
I at one time wanted to use a '57 Chevy station wagon as my funeral coach, but I've since sold the rusty project car,and it won't happen that way. Doubt a casket will fit into my '78 GT, either. Oh well. Like your idea, though. I agree, I get more comments on any AMC I ever drive than some of the nicer Big 3 stuff parked around. LOL. Kinda comical, but fun too.
