Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Pep Boys vs. O'Reilly's

And recently Suburu had 4 of the highest ratings in some survey go figure. Not that I want to go out and buy a Suburu now. But the Eagle held it's own against Suburu back in 1980s in the 4x4 contests. It's all monday morning quaterbacking since 1988. That Medallion and Summit AMC was pushing never got off the ground, they were good looking cars, very modern...however.....every time one would see the word AMC mentioned (dating back to the big strike in 76/77) AMC had the word 'struggling' in front of it. Needless to say you get stigmatized no matter how much shit you win and awards and how well cars built people just remember that 'struggling' word and keep looking.

No by the time Chrysler took over AMC there wasn't much left but Jeep and a car that was identical to all the Japanese cars that were on the market. I don't even think Renault killed AMC, Lets face at the turn of the decade you needed to change what you were building. AMC couldn't sale the 1970 Hornet forever.

A Dirty word, that R word. Kind of like the F word for Chrysler today... What goes around comes around. Isn't it great?
