Re: [BaadAssGremlins] amc eagle vented gas caps

The gas 'blends' all over US is that what might be sold in say, St. Louis is different thant what is in same Chevron, or Texaco pumps in say, Phoenix, or Houston, so seems each region has certain blends. Here, some have that E85 stuff and seems most of the gas is oxygenated which is supposed to burn cleaner not that it does, just another way to raise price I guess!

Out here on the Left Coast, they are advertising fuel with Nitrogen added...Big Deal, as N2 is INERT and what help or hindrance can that be?  our atmosphere is 70% N2.

Your pressure issue is the reason you fill up at night;  there should be a pressure relief as you say....R

Is there a gas cap made for AMC Eagle that is Vented? For whatever reason, sometimes,
especially on hot days, you can take the gas cap off one of our Eagles and it literally
will blow off in your hand from pressure. I think it probably has to do with oxygenated
gas that is used in Houston.

A report on one of the local television stations a few weeks ago was talking about the
best time to buy gasoline at stations, which is at night, when temps cooler, as you get
what you pay for, as if you fill up during day, you lose some of the gas to vaporazion.
Didn't know that, but gan tell you the gas is bubbly around here foe years and many places
use ethanol mix in gas which (to me) is hardly flammable.

So if anyone has a suggestion or two for vented gas caps for Eagle, let me know, you can
reply here as others might be interested. Thanks in advance to all who might reply.
