After I
pulled the 232 6cylinder / automatic from my 32,000 mile Gremlin to make
room for the 401 / 4 speed going in, I decided that I really didn’t need
it laying around the shop, so I posted a ad on Craigslist, that anyone
who wanted could come by and get it for free. I figured that maybe
someone could use it for their project, or to just keep their AMC
running, and it would be better option than throwing it on the scrap
pile. (You got to think Green) I got about 20
e-mail responds the first day, so I figured I would let the people who
sent the 1st e-mail have 1st shot at
it. The guy called me told me he’ll be there at 10:00
sharp Saturday, (2 weeks ago). He never showed, call
him around noon, told me he had to work and would be there a 10:00
Sunday, again he never showed, called him around noon, and he told me he
decided he didn’t want it. The same story happen with
4 other guys. It was a total waste of time so
far. So I sent out an e-mail to all the other who
said then wanted it, gave them my address and told them that the first
one there after 9:00 AM Saturday gets it. I got
e-mails back telling me that it BS and they weren’t going to come out if
there a chance that it could be gone. (Note: I live
in the city of Omaha, its not like I’m 50 miles
out of town). I did have a few phones calls, but
again no one show up. Then the kicker came last night
when a Ass Hole sent me a e-mail telling me he would take it, if I
guaranty it to run. I sent him a e-mail telling that
if the Damn thing didn’t run, I would have scarped it out in the first
place, and that he could go to Hell, I’m keeping it.
I would rather let the damn thing sit in my shop, than gives it
away.
You would think
that trying to give away a good running motor and transmission wouldn’t
be shut a pain in the ass. I will be a long time
before I post anything on Craigslist again.
If anyone on this
list needs either the motor or transmission, let me know, than are free
if anyone needs them, just don't mention Craigslist. I would be
willing to crate them up for shipping at cost.
Thanks
Ed
