Re: [BaadAssGremlins] A Strange Question-Myth Or Fact?

Without looking no one will ever know. It would have not been put in there by Mopar however as the AMC 360 was last pressed in 1992. A few years ago I dropped in a 74 aMC 258 into a 78 Pacer of which that 258 had blown, and it passed emissions. But thewre is absolutely no way that the engine in there would have come from Chrysler new...much less in 2001. Chalk this one up to www.urbanlegends.com or www.snopes.com or mythbusters. Not caling his uncle a liar, just one of those things AMCers hear...even when our cars were new...that the AMC 390 is Ford 390 is Mopar 360 is AMC 360 is Buick 401 is AMC 401 is Rambler 327 is Chevy 327...ect...

This is a strange one I have never heard before. A member of my AMC model group just brought this up. While visiting his uncle in 2001 his uncle had a brand new Dodge pickup. His uncle supposedly was told by the dealers mechanic that the truck had an AMC 360 in it as the Dodge 360 couldn't pass the pollution test at that time. No he is just going on what his uncle told him since he didn't look under the hood To bad he didn't because he would have known if it was an AMC 360 or a Dodge 360.
