Yesterday I talked to Doc and mentioned I had a charging issue with my 70 hornet. He asked if I had ac on the 232 I said nope. "So why don't you just put a delco in there and forget about it?" Doc said. So this morning while surfing the net and checking emails, I looked up the swap info. I actually went with the info on Eddie Stakes sight. I looked up prices on alternators and thought... wait a min. I bought an alternator for a 80's comanchee I since got rid of. Hmmm where is that box. Found it. Turns out I had the right alternator on the shelf. I paid 36 bucks for it with shipping 4 years ago. SO Off to the parts store for a GM pigtail $2.89 Took me about an hour and now it charges great. Took her for a drive and it was cool. It had been since OCT that I drove an amc so it was awsome. I need to rebuild the front end it's a little sloppy on steering. And the car needs a wash bad. I put 11.5 gallons of 89 octane in it as the gas gauge said it was on empty. I was worried the gauge was broken but it now says I have a little over 1/2 a tank. I fear my gremlin will be laid up for a while so I can take the hornet to shows in april. Davis ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
