I understand about a year ago he was hit by cab. And his mom has been
taking care of him since, he is in his ealry 50s so tons of life left and
dammit, what a really nice guy if you ever met him his enthusiasm for everything
AMC was awesome and he was happy to show off his cars, bought with realtor money
as he had a realty office in Yonkers, I still have his postcard advertising his
business here somewhere and it is modeled after AMC business cards with his
information on back with location for stamp and on front, photos of some of his
cars, very nice and I posted it here on bart's site years ago. I remember seeing
you at Berlin with your 'jingle THIS!' shirt on scaring kiddies. The fellow who
I guess now owns most of if not all of the collection, or might be the broker
for it is in NY and called me a few weeks ago and bought some stuff from me off
ebay, but when he mentioned he had a 1000 mile AMX, I described it to him,
color, options, and even backtracked history to the cave it came out of, quite
surprising and that is where I leanred Steve had been hit by cab and now sort of
veg state sadly. Hopefully the money from auction, if the cars still his name,
will go to his future care or family. You are correct, money don't guarantee
shit. Sometimes left scratching head or other bdily function part when you see
former nazis living in Brazil to 98 years old, while a baby dies at birth or you
have octomom gumball machine dropping 8 babies in LA with no income or anything.
Puts it all in perspective I guess.
