Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: My Old Lady "K" Car Story & other orphans

Muy Caliente Ron. The translation of Nova is correct I just could not remember it and remember seeing the baffled looks on execs faces wondering why the Nova got laughs in Mexico and Central American countries. Of course later the Nova ended up being some tiny little four door piece of monkey dung import thing in 1980s so I guess lived up to it's translation.

Here on the Left coast, Hispanics translate "NOVA" as "NO GO" and they were poor sellers; Here, Caliente means "HOT" !  Betcha (an Alaskan word) that Eddie hears the same in Texas?

Eh, sort of like running out of hurricane names in 2005 when they ran out of
letters after I think Wilma, then started using Greek Alphabet names. Not
that the Chinese know what english is, or can translate it. Back when Chevy
still had the Nova, it translated into something like 'fish tree
dogmountian' or something stupid. Sort of like Mercury could not understand
why the Comet got laughed at in countries south of border, but the Caliente
is slang for uh, WHORE. So try selling Mercury Whores to a population. All
that steel has been going to China for well over decade. Most of it went to
that earthquake-waiting- to-
happen Three Gorges Dam,

however China upped the ante when they landed the Olympics for this past
year featuring their gymnastic team on box of Cheaties Cereal, they needed
massive tons to make that whatever thing it was bird nest that looks like it
was uh, built in China. But that is where mucho tonnage went.
