I'm a little late to this....I think the 360 in the 72 is a great 
choice.....it will be a great driver.....
53....I started drag racing again at 55 now 64 and still going 
strong.....74 Gremlin X race car....
401/727 low 12's.....

Like you I should have found another Gremlin  to make into a race 
car......mine was
not bad and would have been an easy restore......I striped it all 
out...doors too!!!!.

.....but I have other cruisers ... 69 AMX .. 78 Concord(shorty) 
401/T5..my DD and a 73 Matador HT
